ufff .... my head still hurts a bit ... what a nite ...
started slow ... spoke to harry & headed out to jeanie's party in cutting room / there met up w/ david, alex & crew (felt weird dressed up as 'china man' on the 7 train ... where 1/2 of the train is asian ...  .
there couldn't find jeanie, but some arab walks up to me & says "what's up dude" ... holly sh*t! it's ODB (great f&cking costume!). soon after we took some pix w/ 'osama' (aka david) & some american "soldiers" ... classic.
then jeanie strolled in w/ her 'flava flave n d clock girls crew'
bartender pissed me 'cause she made me wait 15min for a drink (while serving others ...) & then when i went to get 2nd .... "bar is no longer open" ... my no-tip-then-b*tch-thx was "welcomed" w/ loud "thank u very much asswh*le ... se la vie Honey
as the liquor consumption was progressing i started to have even more fun ... w/ all the merlin's, nurses, devil / god & naughty school girls around - life was good 
since the bar was 'dry' by now, i was more then happy to join in on an 'after party in a penthouse'  / there ... wow 3 floor penthouse w/ jacuzzi & 2 balconies ... it must have been the mix of vodka (couldn't open johnny black ... until someone else did) that got me ... a little crazy. next thing i know ... the owner was telling me "it's common courtesy to clean after urself when u spill a drink" & "the broom is in the closet" - after i crashed jeanies clock ... "matchek, it's time to go / let's share a cab" - jeanie proposed >

ART: so, i became a photographer
|
|
... it's funny how life works ... ever since i was a kid, i always
have been jealous of artists. i tried drawing ... & sucked at it /
tried a guitar once ... that lasted for 6 months . the only thing i
seemed to be good at were computers ... but that's not really art ...
programing, managing & all the "work related" stuff anyways.
when i began this "big 30" trip, taking pictures came naturally ...
even then, not for a moment have i though "i could be a photographer"
- i even said here once - "i'm not a photographer, i'm just a guy with
a camera" ...
well ... my calling have found me it seems. one of edith's friends -
aaron - after seeing some of my "amateur" snaps, asked me if i'd be
interested & work for him. of course i agreed & took pix of his staff
in times square, annual sphinx gala concert at Carnegie Hall and ...
sphinx concert at the Apollo!
of course can't show u all the shots (did all 1200 of them & most are "work" staff), but
during my "work" i got some nice ones, i'm proud off, so here u go

.... or is it? especially in today's world, where authority has absolutely no real value. if not for the consequences, we'd openly ignore authority.
on the other hand, if u look at certain ocations stricktly from a personal view .... it did give me an interesting combination of: anxiaety, confusion, but with security and happines at the same time ...
i guess "special" it is

nite w/ a music band called destiny ... i mean SiSe ...

So, my fiancee has been playing on & off w/ this cool new latin / electronica band, called Si*Se. and she was asked to play w/ them yet again this past weekend in Chicago @ Green Dolphin Street. SiSe is cool people, but as any music band w/ fans .... bit crazy. so to say the least i was looking towards the "behind the scenes" look . unfortunately nothing is easy in life & our - normally 1.5 hour plain ride - turned into 8 hours nightmare ... "because" of bad weather (i'm sooooo tired of hearing this excuse from airlines ..... [serio - i asked the pilot "WFT?" & he explained that it's because of more air traffic then ever in the air .... they need to build new air-highways ....]:
- we 1st had to wait in NY ... 2 hours
- then when we got to Chicago ... they didn't let us land
- because we didn't have enough gas, they routed us to Indianapolis (air smells good there btw ...)
- where we sat on the tarmac for ... 4 hours & almost didn't make it to Chicago at all! (me & my "don't worry be happy" crap worked i guess
well band didn't seem THAT stressed being that they were suppose to open for Los Lobos Boys (or something) @ 9 & we didn't get into Chicago 'till 11:30 ... all morgan said, was "i just wana get paid". after we landed, they got the good news that the venue still wanted them to play.
1st experience of being entourage for SiSe was the limo/van experience. i mean ... i worked as a limo driver in the past, so no biggie, but sitting in the back on leather couches & sippin on some "juice" from the fridge, while watchin tv screens & listening to new slick rick is always nice 
once we got there, the organizer hooked everyone w/ some drinks (since i'm part of the entourage, i make sure i get hooked up 2 / yeah!). i met up w/ mattias, ashley & lisa, who came to watch as well. THEN, me & mattias are hangin with these Parking guys from Kosovo & outside of Green Dolphin. I turn around & start snapping some pix of morgan & cliff chillin' outside as well. next thing - cliff starts humping a stop sign ... "hey, don't get my stop sign pregnant!" - that's when the parking guy advised cliff on safe sex ... with a heavy eastern european accent ... 
finally, we go inside & the concert starts - i snapp pix left & right (even one of the venue's people asked me for a card)... good music (even though i found out there were some "lack of the soung guy" isses), edith rockin' the house / carol c hipnotizing us w/ her voice. rest of the band is jammin their balls off. everyone is having a ball! i'm dancin, my austrian friends are dancing & sexy latinas are MOVIN' on the dance floor - life is good!
afterwards we proceeded w/ the band & some groupies ("how does is feel to be a groupie" morgan asks me ... ) to the hotel & party at one of the rooms 4 a bit ... what was happenin there u ask? - "nothing" too crazy .... some good ol' fun: some play fightin, bakin, a titie here & there
well, it was late & we needed to bounce ... but as we were leaving the hotel edith decided to play violin in the perfectly acoustic, 30s looking lobby .... what a treat to my ears (since no one else noticed it was NOT the lobby elevator music ...)
packed day/morning u might think, right? wrong ... as we were trying to get a cab, the african cabbies gave us hard time ( 'cause were we going was considered "dangerous" area of chicago - they should come over to east brooklyn sometime). so i got pissed & called concierge from the hotel. they panicked & quickly found us a cab, revealing "we did NOT refuse u service" (which is illegal of course) - whatever ...
so THEN .... edith gets into "there are different kind of BLACK people in america" .... debate w/ our, african cabbie  ... all i could do i laugh / what a GREAT nite!

& somehow i got to jesus' age - (ohh wait that laughing hurts .... i must be getting old)

got wisdom? well, as a matter of fact i do ...
- if u turn 30 & ur life is not quite where u expected for it to be (that's the case for 90% of us, 30-somethings) ... DO SOMETHING about it! Do something completely different u normally would ... i decided to take the negative & turn it into a positive / spiritual experience & TRAVELLED to europe. visited 20-something cities & then stayed in Spain for few months (this is how this blog started, go back into archive to go through my journey with me ) ...
- at 31 i joined a wonderful community of mountain / snow lovers in Killington - thanks to that passion, now i have circle of friends. and they all seem to be 30-somethings (with few 30+++ exceptions ) that simply ENJOY life ... i never thought it was possible to meet people like that in NY (not that I've met them in NY .... u can ONLY meet the nicest New Yorkers ... outside of New York)
- around 32, i've met my future wife ... never believed in the love-at-the-1st-sight ... (my close friends, know what a dog i was for few months of my 31) ... but then it HAPPENED to me ... just as others described it .... i literally looked into her eyes & saw "that spark" .... so DON'T give up, there's someone out there for u too ... u just have to get out of ur "cycle", do something different, go somewhere u'd never go on ur "daily route" ... let the destiny find u
- 2 weeks after my 32nd i also lost a dear friend, Derick ... this was the 1st time i had to deal with death so young & so close to my heart ... Derick tought me that there's more to life then just fun (although he lived trully on the edge ...). through his death i felt as if i grew up few years in just month ... learned that if u see something good in life - don't hesitate, don't look for something "better" - go for it.
- & now i'm 33 . . . this year of my life also has been very interesting ... i've been reading much about religion lately & being the heretic that i am ... well, let's just say it's been very enlightening to open my mind bit more to daVinci code theories / paganism / spirituality / etc. Not that it changed my view on those ... "things", but i even stronger believe in DESTINY ... that there's "higher purpose" for each and everyone our there ... our "Personal Legend" sometimes requires "leap of faith" and belief that the "gut feeling" we have is there for a REASON.
so what's my point? at the end of my 20s i was bit unhappy / thought that i'm stuck in this "american dream" life cycle. thankfully to some life changing events (eg. loosing a job) i decided to take to the unknown path & couldn't be happier that it did. the last 3 years have been nothing but growth to a new, more mature Maciek. through ups & downs, i learn something new every day. but i still manage to have tons of fun
.... like they say 30 is a 18-year old with 12 year experience

happy 4th of july americanos!

tradition continues .... so again, we went off to Killington to celebrate this "important" american Holiday with a style ... brain damage!
what does that mean u ask?
- man-gina - if u don't know ... don't ask, 'cause u don't want to know ... well it became a very popular term throughout the weekend & basically it indicated that someone is a "pussy" (uhh - come to think of it, it only applied to men) - so when sr. david didn't want to go down a certain path down hill biking ... we called him "ohh come on ... ur man-gina is acting up again?"
- "y u lightin fire on MY side"? - alcohol, bakes and testosterone don't mix ... to most gentle giants in the house: me & dave got into a little alteration about me lighting the fire on "his" side of the house ... gracie-grace came to the rescue & no blood was shed
- dave - damaged & dazzled - probably due to man-gina insults, he pushed it ... a bit too far & crashed head 1st ... poor dave couldn't drink his belgian beer that evening ... needless to say the insults followed from our lovin' bunch
- water holes rock (once u find it ... - wow ... & wow again - it's fun to 1. try to find those "holes" from local's directions 2. the wild river ... is really wild & the current pulls strong .... did i mention it's fun?
- screeeeeeeeming monopoly
- screeeeeeeeeeeeming tabu[/color] - let me address both ... as i went outside to check on the kielbasas i heard bunch of college kids screaming on top of their longs ... after initial "what the ..." - i realized it's coming from ... our ski-house .... bunch of 30-year-olds & too much work stress i guess
- maciek "coming out" of the closet - just to think we almost left a day earlier and would miss this ... controversial conversation ... to make the long & complicated story short ... in our "intelligent" debates i stated "if my son'd be gay 1. i'd break all of his lims 2. if that didn't help he'd have to change his name" .... oh boy ... to say the least some people were very suprised that an "intelligent" person, who's very open minded could say this ... after explaining my communist background, brainwashing & year of adjustment to "american" culture ... things quiet down a bit, so .... i announced that this would be a good time for me to come out ...
- the stars r f***en beautiful in the middle of snowshed @ 1am - d 4th - not even gonna mention "ha, ha", spooning n other activities ... of roading on the mountain in the middle of the nite is probably illegal ... but it's sooooo much fun ..... should have been there
