kai's smiles / melany & duszan pay us a visit
|
|
i finally managed to catch Kaia smailing ... with Melany's help, who kept her entraitained .
Kai is definitely growing and is much more aware of her surroudings. She seems to recognise our faces (smiles to me evey morning, when she sees me). She's also trying to express herself with her vocal cords ... most of it is: eh, ah & my favorite "agu" , but ... edith heard an accidental "hi" & i heard "helo" (bit disapointed that no Polish words were spoken yet ... i mean it's such a simple language ...).
We also had Melany & Duszan visit us in NY last weekend - had a great time together, shared favorite restaurants & pretty much made Duszan fall in love with new york.

time really flies .... and yes, Kai changes almost daily. few highlights:
- i've started calling our dougher kaia ... as in polish kaja - a proper girl's name (to edith's dislike). thanks to devinder & iggy, who visited us & accidentally gave me an idea to call her just that - we've also had a great nite our w/ best thai in NY & generall good ol' time together
...
- edith has to stop breast feading due to a medication that could harm little one, but kaia doesn't seem to complain at all
- and to much of parent's excitment, we've got Kai's first attempt of "speaking" on video:

kai: 8 weeks flew by
|

another month, another update.
Kai Nikita has grown yet again. we're past 10 pounds and her appetite seems to be growing every day. grandma Barbara has been helping us with baby sitting, so parents finally had a chance to go out together & party a little
autie Magda & cusin Daniel, came to visit us from San Francisco & Magda is totaly in love with Kai.
Kai also started smiling at us - seems she's actually recognizing our faces now & she's definitely more active & aware during the days.

kai: i'm a month old!

it's been a busy month ... Kai Nikita is growing so fast, she must be 23 inches or so already. But we're managing some how (lots of thanks to grandma Maxine, who helped us out tremendously). And are learninig slowely which cry means what
we're giving in & at night Nikita gets formula, to make her sleep better (& us). you also know you ARE a parent when your kid's pooping doesn't smell to you ...
we've also been able to give Kai her first bath ... & she seems to like it, but is VERY slippery ...
grandma Max had to leave town & both grand parents are calling in every day to check on our little Kai
& finally, I had my 1st father's day .... it was kinda strange to get used to the idea, but i received few cards & one from my .... doughter ... :0.

in the last min spirit, we've invided some friends who haven't seen Kai yet & threw a little bbq
chef maciek made some decent ribs after 2nd try at the grill fireing & everyone enjoyed themselfs

on to the 2nd week of young life, Kai was hangin w/ grand parents Yokley. Especially proud granda Joe, who couldn't get enough
another photo shoot, but won't bore you with all of those pix
& parents? ... well, we're finally getting the real taste of parenthood: sleeples nights, not knowing why is she crying, trying to figure out the whole breast feeding deal, etc, etc

kai: photoshoot 2 & 1st bbq

kai nikita is one week old today!
so far, so good. edith doesn't seem to be to upset that i'm in love w/ 2 ladies now & the little one is really good to us. slowely she's starting to respond to us & she even laughed to my silly "ha has"
ohh, & she seems to tollerate sound of Formula 1 engines very well!
today, we took her to visit grand parents Gregorskich & had a delicious bbq. she also was wearing a dress for a very first time ...

kai: grandpa Yokley sees her for the 1st time

last night grandpa Yokley finally got to NY & saw Kai for the very first time ... yes, it was love at the 1st sight
today, we also have decided to try out our new stroller (Peg Perego Uno), which converts to basnett & later can grow with the child (daddy found a good deal on it too
it's funny how overprotective you become of your child .... everyone who has gotten to close to the stroller was "welcomed" by "if the looks could kill" stare from daddy

today Kai gave us a little hard time last nite before she went to sleep, but we can't really complain since overall she's a very quiet baby ... but daddy fell asleep with nikita in the morning
